Medellin is blessed with the artists donation of the world's largest collection of Fernando Botero bronze sculptures. Botero is a native son of Medellin. The best place to get up close and actually touch the sensuous curves of his statuary is La Plaza Botero, only a few short blocks from El Centro METRO station. The Plaza displays 23 sculptures. Four more can be found in Medellin's Parque Berrio and Plaza San Antonio.

In Cartagena, Colombia, the popular Walled City tourist area, Plaza Santo Domingo, also contains a popular Botero-the reclineing nude where hundreds of thousands of tourists have lovingly touched, and thereby made shiny, her bronze nipples for: "good love, and good luck".

Across from the Plaza is the popular Museo de Antioquia which offers a varied media collection of popular, historic and religious works of art from many periods, including other famous works by Botero.
